Overview

Position Summary 

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for coordinating and executing manufacturing equipment maintenance activities to eliminate and/or minimize equipment caused disruptions in operations. Coordinate and execute all maintenance programs related to the facilities

Responsibilities

                            

  • Ensure that manufacturing machinery and equipment run optimally with minimal downtime
  • Manage preventative maintenance tasks to ensure all activities are completed on time
  • Identify opportunities for new or improved preventative maintenance practices
  • Conduct and oversee maintenance process audits
  • Provide task-based direction to machine maintenance technician(s)
  • Provide training and coaching on equipment operating and maintenance procedures for machine maintenance technician(s)
  • Review work orders to determine work priorities
  • Respond to major equipment breakdowns and diagnose faults
  • Manage work through the maintenance software and other ERP systems
  • Create and maintain a well-organized inventory of maintenance consumables (physically and electronically)
  • Ensure parts needed for equipment maintenance are on hand/replenished when used
  • Establish different maintenance procedures and protocols
  • Develop knowledge base documentation to support equipment
  • Track key equipment metrics; make recommendations re: equipment lifecycle management
  • Adhere to all safety policies; includes wearing personal protective equipment when required
  • Participate in safety committee
  • Ensure all equipment is correctly and accurately maintained
  • Negotiate outside service contracts and maintain good vendor relationships
  • Coordinate the installation qualification (IQ) and training of new manufacturing equipment
  • Provide leadership in visual management and organization for manufacturing tools/equipment in production (5S champion)
  • Maintain an organized work area
  • Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
  • Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
  • Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work
  • Partner with other business segments:  sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
  • Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve
  • Participate in required company meetings
  • Complete all other work duties as assigned
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment

Qualifications

 

  • Associate or Technical Degree
  • Experience with tooling
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of engineering and tool design required
  • Ability to read, comprehend, follow, and document work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training documents
  • Ability to collaborate and assist team members
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Organizational skills
  • Flexibility with work hours
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask

 

Desirable Criteria & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (e.g., chemical, mechanical, or industrial engineering)
  • Proficiency with 3D modeling software (i.e., SolidWorks)
  • Quality / OE Training / Certifications (Lean, Six-Sigma, ASQ-CQE, etc.).
  • Formal supervisory or leadership training
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001/13485
  • Clean room environment experience

 

Physical & Environmental Demands

Cretex Companies use cutting oils, solvents, and other chemicals in the manufacturing process.  Testing is conducted on a periodic basis to ensure that all chemicals are kept well below the OSHA permissible exposure levels.
