Overview

We are seeking a bilingual, hands-on finance leader—an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, small business environment. The ideal candidate will oversee all day-to-day accounting functions, implement and improve financial systems, and provide leadership on financial planning, compliance, and reporting as the operations grow. This role will evolve as the company operations grow. This position will serve as a strong business partner, providing financial leadership, guidance and assistance to the executive team and functional leaders.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions                                                                

  • Own the full cycle accounting process: A/P, A/R, payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end and year-end close
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports
  • Support the annual strategic and operating plan process by creating budgets, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data and identification of trends to assist with forecasting potential future impact
  • Assist with cash flow management and forecasting
  • Support global corporate initiatives, transfer pricing, cost sharing, etc.
  • Collaborate with corporate tax manager and external CPA for tax planning and annual filings
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure proper internal controls
  • Manage, support, and improve accounting systems and software integrations
  • Assist with inventory tracking, costing, and product margin analysis
  • Monitor and investigate cost variances, drive necessary actions with cross functional team members to address deficiencies
  • Maintain accurate fixed asset records and tracking in compliance with legal requirements
  • Analyze capital expenditure proposals and ensure investments are supported by sound financial projections and plans
  • Act as a key business partner to leadership, providing financial insights to support decision-making
  • Provide meaningful operational job performance data and insight to identify process improvements and support critical decision making
  • Develop and maintain functional and business unit reporting systems that accurately depict performance of key business and financial parameters
  • Ensure company compliance to regulatory requirements and timely and accurate report filings including overseeing Free Trade Zone related controls and reports and Procomer Operations Book for Fixed Assets
  • Achieve satisfactory financial audit results by external and internal auditors
  • Attract and develop talented accounting and finance team members
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors for payroll, benefits, and other support services
  • Coordinate with vendors, customers, and banks on finance-related matters
  • Support other business functions and special projects as needed
  • Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work
  • Partner with other business segments:  sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and operations
  • Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve
  • Ensure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning accurately
  • Participate in required company meetings
  • Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
  • Complete all other work duties as assigned
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in a small-mid size business or entrepreneurial setting
  • Proficiency in accounting software; ERP implementation experience a plus
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort with financial modeling and reporting
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish]) required
  • Experience in a manufacturing company that operates under a Free Trade Zone Regime
  • Ability to perform multiple responsibilities within a small-mid sized business environment
  • Proven ability to work independently and adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-player mindset
  • Growth mindset with interest in developing leadership capabilities
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask

 

Desirable Criteria & Qualifications

  • CPA, CMA, or other accounting designation
  • Continuing Education; including participation in local chapters, associations, and/or organizations
