Overview

Responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining precision machining equipment, ensuring strict adherence to Health & Safety (H&S) regulations, manufacturing best practices, and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: 

· Set up and operate CNC lathe and milling machines according to production specifications and blueprints.

· Perform routine and complex machining operations with high precision and efficiency.

· Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure compliance with quality specifications.

· Interpret technical drawings, work orders, and engineering specifications accurately.

· Perform preventive maintenance and minor troubleshooting on equipment as needed.

· Record production data, inspections, and deviations in line with documentation procedures.

· Follow and promote strict compliance with occupational health & safety (H&S) guidelines.

· Ensure all operations meet Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO quality standards.

· Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to continuously improve processes.

· Keep work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.

 

Work Conditions:

· Full-time position based in Cartago.

· Rotating shifts may be required.

· Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times in designated areas.

· Physically demanding role, requiring standing for long periods and handling materials or equipment.

Qualifications

· Technical degree in Precision Machinist.

· Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC lathe and/or milling machines in a industrial manufacturing environment.

· Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and material properties.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files.

· Experience working in industries with high quality standards (e.g., medical devices, automotive, engineering) is preferred.

· Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC programming (G-code) is a plus.

· Knowledge of safety standards, including OSHA, ISO-45000 or local equivalents.

· Team-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
